Rates for psychotherapy and therapy in Toronto in particular generally range from $80 dollars per session to $250 per session depending on the therapist’s level of education and experience. If you have insurance coverage through your place of employment or university, my fee is $190 per 45 minute session (receipts are provided and you are reimbursed directly from your insurance company); if you are uninsured for psychotherapy my fee is $135 +HST per 45 minute session. I do have a sliding scale and may make special fee arrangement for teenagers paying out of pocket or university students. As I have a limited amount of spots in my practice reserved for patients paying a lower fee, a sliding scale fee depends on availability.
Is Psychotherapy Worth The Expense?
I think the expense of therapy is only worthwhile if it works and is effective. Because I really care about my work and my patients and want to see them improve their lives, I make the commitment to every patient that I will work as hard as I can to help create the changes you seek. You will receive compassionate care and a high level of customer service. Evaluating the effectiveness of psychotherapy can also happen in the therapy itself on an ongoing basis, in order to assess whether its worthwhile for you and your family.
